This slope proceeds across flat pastureland, the deep wintry landscape of Salzburger Land right through to Saalfelden. Thanks to the flat route, the Schattberg slope is ideal for those new to cross-country. Yet expert cross-country skiers really work up a sweat in Maria Alm too, since the region is connected to the slope network in Saalfelden. Around Maria Alm you can work out on around 30 kilometres of slopes in total.
